Picture just to give a general idea of what he looks like. More accurate pictures will come soon

Maanthaz was born on Ryloth along with a twin sister. However, they were separated at birth as their other's owner sold the two children very quickly. Maanthaz never saw his sister, or mother, again.

Maanthaz was a remarkable specimen. To be born with white skin as a Twi'lek was very rare, and to be born with extra long lekku was even more rare. Maanthaz's lekku - which are the two tail-like appendages on the Twi'lek's heads - were almost twice as long as the average, reaching down to his thighs. The reason for their length is unknown, but it became a reason to why he would become so popular. Maanthaz was the pride of Zygerrian slaver MaCheparo Bir'alo's troupe. Not only did he boast a unique appearance, but he was skillful in the Force as well. Using it as he was dancing for Bir'alo's guests.

However, as Maanthaz grew, and his connection to the Force with him, he started to draw the attention of other slavers, pirates, and even crime lords. Hutt Rutta, a member of the Hutt cartel on Nal Hutta went to great lengths to obtain Maanthaz as her own. And she eventually suceeded, and when Maanthaz was but fifteen years old, he saw the great cities on Nal Hutta for the first time. Unbeknownst to him and Rutta - a power struggle between the Republic and Sith Empire was taking place on Nal Hutta as Rutta's ship arrived. Rutta was killed by a Sith trooper's blaster fire the moment she stepped off the ship. Angered, and scared after being nearly shot, Maanthaz latched out with the force, sending the trooper flying back - hitting a Sith warrior, giving a Jedi the opening needed to kill them.

Although already 15, Maanthaz begged for the Jedi to take him with him. He had nowhere else to go. Barely capable of speaking basic, he tugged the Jedi's robes with tears in eyes, hysterically trying to gain her attention. The Jedi, after realising that if she didn't take him, a Sith most likely would, decided to take Maanthaz with her to Tython where she would train him in the ways of the light side. Maanthaz was a slow learner, and although remained calm at all times, found it frustrating to be in yet another situation where he had no power over his situation.
